Foundation Specialists has been a busy Railway Contractor in the Philippines for the last 30 years.  The most substantial Railway Projects have been in the field of Metropolitan Mass Transit Elevated Rail System, with the LRT1, Light Rail Transit System (totally elevated), the LRT3, MRT, Metro Rail Transit System (partly elevated and partly on grade). For the LRT1 Foundation Specialists was  " design and Construct " Contractor.  The line, 17 kilometers, the line stations, the central station and the terminals, plus the one kilometer connecting line ( to Depot )  are all elevated. The line has a major bridge [ Steel ] over the Pasig River, for which bridge, built on a bend of the river, particular provisions had to be introduced in light of the heavy fluvial traffic of large barges and the substantial speed of the river current during the rainy season. Two steel bridges were also installed along the connecting (service) line, over the Tripa De Gallina Canal. The MRT, (initially called LRT3) runs along EDSA from the North Triangle to Taft Avenue. The MRT, aside from the construction of the elevated and on grade railway, had involved finding and implementing solutions to several large and complex engineering challenges, such as the stabilization of the Sky City large pit, involving the largest Posttensioned SoilAnchors project ever done in the Philippines; the Magallanes Widening project, to make way for the two railway lines through the existing Magallanes Edsa Flyover, by cutting the central portions of the Flyover and adding back additional lines on the sides, without ever suspending traffic in the extemely busy interchange; the simultaneous construction of the Tramo EDSA Flyover, leading to the international airport, crossing the railway on a 90 degrees left turn, all constructed without traffic interruption. The construction of overpasses (over the Railway), the modification and the restructuring of the previously existing ones, the state of the art stabilization of PG8 at Guadalupe, just to mention few.

Foundation Specialists was given the contract for the construction of several Railway Bridges for the South Rail, Albay Area, rehabilitation and extension done during the Nineties.
